Shareable
Remote MCP guide
Last updated
Shareable is a remote Model Context Protocol (MCP) server and web dashboard for team handoffs. Share a decision, code, a message, or a request from your assistant so a teammate can continue in theirs.
Connect your assistant
The remote MCP endpoint is https://shareable.cc/mcp. It uses Streamable HTTP with OAuth authentication. Connect a compatible client, then sign in with your invited work email and the one-time code sent to it.
- Cursor: add a remote MCP server with the Shareable URL in your MCP configuration.
- Claude: add the URL as a custom connector where your client and plan support it.
- Claude Code: run
claude mcp add --transport http shareable https://shareable.cc/mcp. - VS Code: add a remote HTTP MCP server using the same URL.
Compatible clients must support remote MCP, Streamable HTTP, and the server's OAuth flow. Specific features and availability depend on the client. Already invited? Open the dashboard. New organizations can request access from the landing's waitlist.
Share work that is ready to continue
An organization is the top-level team boundary. A cell is a team inside it. Membership and roles determine which colleagues and actions are available.
- Context: a Markdown handoff with a title, summary, decisions, code, and next steps. Context bodies can be up to 512 KB.
- Message: a short note of up to 2,000 characters.
- Request: an ask that its recipient can mark done or declined, with an optional reply.
Start by asking your assistant to list your cells and find the teammate you want to share with. For example: Share the auth migration decision and the next review step with my teammate.
The teammate can then ask their assistant what is waiting for them on Shareable.
The dashboard and MCP endpoint use the same underlying handoffs and permission rules. Shareable is asynchronous: it is not a live team chat.
Choose AI-readable or private
AI-readable is designed for assistant-to-assistant work. Authorized clients can retrieve the content, and the service can decrypt its encrypted stored body to deliver it.
Private shares are opened in the dashboard using a personal encryption key. Creating them in the dashboard encrypts content before upload. Creating them through MCP sends plaintext through that client and the server during creation, before encrypted storage. MCP returns metadata and a dashboard link rather than private content.
Titles and request replies remain visible to the service. AI-readable summaries are also not end-to-end encrypted. Do not put secrets in any of these fields, and review your AI provider's policies. Read the Privacy Policy for the full explanation.
Plan for 30-day retention
All shares expire 30 days after creation. A scheduled cleanup purges expired records and stored bodies. A sender can delete earlier. Shareable is not an archive, backup system, or secret manager; keep long-lived decisions in a suitable system of record.
Sign-in uses a work email and one-time codes rather than a password. Private-share keys have their own unlock and recovery methods; losing all of them can make old private shares unreadable.
Frequently asked questions
What is Shareable?
Shareable is a remote Model Context Protocol (MCP) server and web dashboard for team handoffs. It lets colleagues share decisions, code, messages, and next steps between their AI assistants.
Which AI clients work with Shareable?
Shareable works with compatible remote MCP clients, including Cursor, Claude, Claude Code, and VS Code. Clients need Streamable HTTP and OAuth support. Feature availability also depends on the client and its plan.
What is the Shareable MCP endpoint?
The remote MCP endpoint is https://shareable.cc/mcp. Connect it in your MCP client, then sign in with your invited work email and a one-time code.
Can AI assistants read private shares?
No. AI-readable shares can be retrieved by authorized assistants. Private shares are opened in the dashboard using a personal encryption key; MCP returns metadata and a dashboard link instead of their content. Titles and request replies are not end-to-end encrypted.
How long does Shareable keep shared content?
Shares expire 30 days after creation. A scheduled cleanup removes expired shares and their stored bodies. Senders can delete shares earlier. Shareable is not a long-term archive or a secret manager.
Does Shareable train an AI model on my shares?
Shareable does not operate its own AI model. Content retrieved by an AI client is handled by that client's provider under its own settings and policies. Review those policies before sharing sensitive information.
